Baidu Map
Baidu Map, also called
Baidu Ditu, is one
of the most accurate
digital maps in China,
but so far there is
not a version in
English. Also since
Google Maps was blocked, you can't use it
too if
you don't have a re-direct
proxy
installed in your
device. So, it is very inconvenient for non-Chinese speakers who are in China.
Sometimes you might find there is an Android Apk or IOS APP of Baidu Map, but
only find it is still in Chinese when you take time downloading
it.
However we still have
solutions for that.
Bing Maps is not as powerful and accuracy as Baidu Maps in China,
but it works very well when
it comes to locating a
bigger target such as a city, a road, a hospital
or even a community. More importantly,
Bing Maps has an English
version, so it can be a
good alternative to
Baidu maps for
foreigners in China.
2. Apple Maps: If
you have an
iPhone, Apple Maps of
English version works
well in China. China is
the biggest market of
iPhone, and Apple Maps
is pre-installed and can
be used in China, it
also locates very accurately when
you want to find
a named place.
3. Other Solutions:
You might have to
use a
re-direct proxy to access
all your Google
applications, includes
Google Maps.
